This graduate course will cover fundamental principles related to UAV research, especially in the research themes of the CREATE-UAV program (i.e., control, autonomy and navigation; airframe optimization; sensory feedback for improved UAV pilot performance). It is a one-term (half course) that lasts 13-14 weeks.

This graduate course is the second part of the CARRE core courses, following AER1216: Fundamentals of UAVs. In AER 1217, the focus is placed on the development of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), with the theme of autonomy in navigation and control, as well as flight performance analysis and evaluation.

Students can earn an Emphasis in Aerial Robotics by completing the required courses.
